Sparkle Pet, LLC is owned and operated by Francine Bottinelli, and headquartered in beautiful Carlsbad, CA. Francine is a life-long animal lover and currently is taking care of a dog, 5 cats, 3 chickens and 1 husband. Her first four-legged job was working of the Pasadena Humane Society as an adoptions counselor and animal socializer. She then began a 12-year career in veterinary medicine. After three years working as a veterinary assistant in her home town of San Marino, she moved to Northridge, where she attended California State University. While in school, she worked full-time as a veterinary technician at McClave Veterinary Hospital, a busy 24-hour clinic in Reseda. After obtaining her BS in Environmental Biology, she continued working days and nights as a technician, before moving to Carlsbad in 2006. She quickly obtained a position at the Rancho Santa Fe Veterinary Hospital and was promoted to supervisor of technical staff after receiving her license as a California Registered Veterinary Technician. She later spent time at California Veterinary Specialists in San Marcos, working again in the emergency department, this time as a floor leader. Most recently she served at Carlsbad Animal Hospital, a bustling daytime practice.
After years of comforting and caring for animals in their most vulnerable and painful moments, Francine decided it was time to move on. She chose mobile pet grooming as her new career because it would offer the chance to work with the animals she loves in a happier setting. She began studying and apprenticed part-time with Suzy Korn, owner of Spawtique Mobile Grooming in Encinitas. After learning the ropes, Francine took over grooming operations for Spawtique while Suzy spent time with a precious new bundle of joy. Before starting her own business, she groomed dogs and cats for Spawtique for four months, with nothing but praise from demanding clients.
When she is not making dogs and cats in North County sparkle, Francine enjoys being outdoors. With her dog Arda and husband Dave at her side, she has trekked over rivers and through the many woods of California. While at home, she likes to tend the vegetable garden and prepare that home-grown bounty into delicious vegetarian meals.
